First Round Mock Draft for the NFL Draft 2012

First Round Mock Draft for the NFL Draft After Week One of Free Agent Signings

The Free Agency period 2012 completed week one with the huge signing by the Denver Broncos of QB Peyton Manning. That signing had a huge effect on the movement of free agent QBs, Matt Flynn, Chad Henne and Kyle Orton last week. It also had a huge impact on the Redskins trading up for the #2 overall selection with the Rams. The Broncos will turn every stone in an attempt to give Manning the arsenal of weapons to compete for the NFL title and skilled position players will command attention in both free agency and the NFL Draft 2012.

This new Mock Draft reflects the first week of free agency signings with the Broncos adding speedy wideout Kendall Wright. The pro days of Baylor, LSU and Stanford this week will have a big impact on the draft status of players like Wright, but also WR Rueben Randle, TE Coby Fleener and DT Michael Brockers. QB Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III will throw this week, though their selection as the top two overall picks is almost guaranteed at this point of the process.

NFL Mock Draft 2012 - Colts Select QB Andrew Luck With Top Overall Pick

NFL Mock Draft - The Colts are ‘On the Clock’!

The Colts hold the first overall choice of the NFL Draft 2012 this April after a terrible season that saw them win only two games all year. Their poor performance may cost longtime GM Bill Polian his job after successful tenure that earned the Colts a Super Bowl title in 2007. Head coach Jim Caldwell currently holds his job as NFL teams begin to make big changes with the regular season now completed. The top overall selection should be QB Andrew Luck regardless if the Colts retain the pick or trades the selection, most likely within the top ten overall choices. Underclassmen have until January 16th to declare for the NFL Draft 2012 with another three days to rescind their decision and return for another year at the collagiate level. DraftInsiders.com/s January Newsletter will have an extensive section of the underclassmen class which has become a major impact group of prospects for the NFL Draft.
