Ohio St. and Michigan played a terrific game that many will demand a rematch in the BCS title game. It could be the next Game of the Century after the high scoring tight Big Ten title contest. Ohio St. rode QB Troy Smith’s fine leadership and playmaking ability to torch the highly regarded Michigan defense. QB Chad Henne and tailback Mike Hart had strong games but the Wolverines failed to make the big plays on defense to claim the Big Ten title. USC has played up and down to the competition and finds a way to make the big critical play. They beat Cal for the Pac 10 title and look for a BCS invite off a win over the Irish this week Notre Dame pounded a weak Army club and looks to make a claim for the title game with a win vs USC this week. The winner will have a strong case for the BCS title Arkansas continues to roll through the tough SEC. They will meet Florida in the title game in a fine matchup. Florida pounded D1AA Western Carolina 62-0 in a totally ridiculous matchup. Texas was idle and waits for Texas A&M over Thanksgiving weekend. Rutgers watched the clock strike midnight when they fell into the Cincinnati Bear trap. Louisville rebounded nicely with a good win over S. Florida. They are still a top quality club that should get a New Year’s Day invite. West Virginia bombed Pitt with an offensive explosion. LSU dodged a bullet from Ole Miss and won a key game late with a field goal. Wisconsin finishes 11-1 but beat only one quality team in Ohio St. over a soft schedule. Auburn won the Iron Bowl for the 5th straight time but it was a minor contest in light of the other big games. Ga. Tech wins their ACC finale and looks to complete a fine season with a victory over rival Georgia this weekend. They continue to play well and gets into the ACC title contest. Boise St. continues through an undefeated season vs a very soft schedule with few challenges. Va Tech has recovered from two midseason losses and is peaking for the postseason.
