Prospects on the Rise
CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie - Tenn St
The rising star of the postseason had another big performance on the heels of a terrific Senior Bowl week. He continued his stellar postseason with a blazing 4.33 time, 17 reps in the lifting and a fine 38.5” in the vertical leap that could push him into the first round.
CB Antoine Cason - Arizona
Maybe the senior prospect with the most to prove at this event after questions about his speed. He answered the call with a strong overall workout including a 4.49 sprint time, 20 reps, 35.5” VL and a 10'8" BJ. That effort probably guarantees him a first round grade.
CB Justin King - Penn St
Athletic junior corner had the type of workout an underclassman must produce to be an early draft selection. He ran a low 4.33 time, looked sharp in the agility drills and did 14 reps.
CB Orlando Scandrick - Boise St
Quick junior corner ran a blistering low 4.33 time that elevated him in the CB rankings. At 192 lbs., he is a fine looking prospect that scouts are hustling to view and do their homework on film. He did not lift.
SS Josh Barrett - Arizona St
Physical specimen put on a show at the Combine workout. He ran a blazing 4.33 time at 223 lbs. He also did 17 reps to recover some critical attention after an injury marred senior season.
Prospects on the Decline
FS Kenny Phillips - Miami
Once considered a sure fire high first round pick, this prospect left more questions than answers after a very ordinary workout. He ran very disappointing 4.55 and 4.54 times and did 19 reps. His Miami workout will be critical for him to stay in the first round.
CB Brandon Flowers - Virginia Tech
Junior corner failed to live up to high expectations when he ran very ordinary 4.55 and 4.58 times. He did only 14 reps and a 30” VL and needs a huge Va Tech pro day to solidify a first round grade.
CB DeJuan Tribble - Boston College
Smallish senior corner continues an average postseason. He ran very ordinary 4.55 and 4.57 times and came in under 5’9”. He also did only 13 reps.
FS Marcus Griffin - Texas
Senior safety had a disappointing workout including a poor 4.71 time in the sprint.
He also did only 13 reps and an ordinary 31.5” vertical leap. He must recover at the Texas workout.
SS D.J. Wolfe – Oklahoma
After coming off a good ’07 season and solid performance at the Senior Bowl, he ran a poor 4.65 time. He opted not to lift that makes his Sooner’ pro day critical for his final draft status.
