How About Those Giants
Giants Claim NFL Title in Super Bowl Thriller

The New York Giants upset the undefeated New England Patriots 17-14 in one of the most thrilling Super Bowls in league history. The Giants won the title on a last minute TD pass from QB Eli Manning to Plaxico Burress, ending the New England Patriots quest for a perfect 19-0 season. It was the Road Warrior GMen's 11th straight road victory including four consecutive wins in the postseason that earned them the NFL title as the league's 5th wild card team to capture the championship.
QB Eli Manning won the MVP award deservedly off the amazing final game winning drive. He follows his brother Peyton from the Colts who last February also won the Super Bowl title, in addition to the highest individual award. Eli Manning has been the most maligned athlete in the NFL over recent seasons and his huge late season turnaround was an exciting and critical factor in the Giants run to the title.
The Giants rookie draft class had an outstanding season and postseason and has instrumental in the NY victory with every draft selection playing a role and usually a key part in the club’s game plan. The rookie class earns GM Jerry Reese the Executive of the Year award from Draft Insiders. Reese has been a long time Giant executive working as a college scout before moving on to Director titles and eventually the GM position last winter. He pounded the pavement as a scout and has been instrumental in building the Giant roster over the past decade as one of the most astute talent evaluators in the game.
