Big gifted junior wideout displayed incredible athleticism for the position over his three seasons as a first team ACC performer. Calvin continued his dominant performance in the ACC with another impressive effort in â€™06 despite operating with some inconsistent passers over his career. He is a top athlete with rare size and athleticism and should be one of the top prospects for the NFL Draft â€™07 after declaring in January. He has incredible hands, speed, leaping ability, size and overall AA talent, combining all the necessary ingredients to become an elite pro player. He creates an impossible matchup for even the best cornerback where his combination of skills gives his offense a rare weapon especially in the red zone. He combines all the skills to become a star in the NFL where his large physical frame with great hands and the agility to be virtually unstoppable in single coverage. Over his short three-year Tech career, he was a dominant performer since his true freshman season where he began starting every game of his career. He combines great size with the excellent hands, speed, quickness and strength to beat a defense in a number of ways. His ability to run after the catch and the speed to break the play has enabled him to be both a deep threat and a terrific possession receiver. He was the go-to receiver in the Tech offense since his first season and put up fine numbers despite being double teamed in most passing situations. He is outstanding getting off the line, combining both quickness and power to fight off the jam and gets into his routes easily and is rarely forced off his pattern. In his routes, he drops his weight well to make crisp cuts with the ability to retain good speed despite his size. He reads coverage well and knows the situation and where the sticks are to make the key first down. He works the end zone and sidelines very well, displaying outstanding body control and the leaping ability to make the acrobatic catch. He eats up the cornerbackâ€™s cushion quickly and can come out of his breaks with good speed. He is a huge athlete with tight end size but wide receiver quickness and who has excellent strength and toughness to fight off tacklers and break the underneath catch for a long gain with more than one tackler usually needed to bring him down. His fine cutting skills allow him to change directions quickly and maintain top speed. After the catch, he is very dangerous, showing acceleration and the burst of speed to run away from defenders. He is a physical blocker who will improve his clubâ€™s running game and capable of controlling linebackers and linemen with his presence. He can wall off and seal the edge, in addition to overpowering a defender. As a runner, he has the explosiveness to take the simple slip screen or hitch pass for a big play, combining the fast acceleration with fine long speed. He is very tough in jump ball situations where his height and great leaping skills give him a considerable advantage regardless of double coverage.
The Numbers:    	As a junior, he started 14 games and caught 76 passes for 1202 yards and 15 TDs for a fine 15.8 yard average while earning ACC first team honors. As a sophomore, he caught 54 passes for 888 yards for 6 TDs and a fine 16.4 yard average that arned him first team ACC honors. As a true freshman, he caught 48 passes for 837 yards that averaged 17.4 yards per catch and 7 TDs, while starting all 12 games. At the NFL Combine, he came in 6â€™5â€? at 239 lbs. and ran a 4.35 and 4.39 times only. At the Tech pro day at an individual workout in mid March, he had an incredible 11'7 BJ and 42.5" BJ that impressed scouts once again. Freakish athlete with rare size and speed with fine intangibles.
The Skinny:  Imposing physical receiver has shown big time ability during his short playing career. His combination of great size and hands plus the long speed to go the distance makes him the prototypical #1 type receiver. He is extremely difficult in matchups and has proven very productive despite double coverage. He has the talent to become a major weapon in a pro offense and a performer that defensive coordinators must game plan to stop. He has the ability to break the big play despite double coverage and his presence creates many opportunities for other skills position players. He has a fine sense of coverage and openings in the secondary and knows how to use his massive frame to make the big play despite heavy coverage. He has deceptive speed that allows him to separate from defenders and stretch the field. He is similar to players like Andre Johnson and David Boston, though better speed than those performers. He is a special receiver with the rare physical skills and the maturity and intangibles to become an NFL star. At a position, where most performers are prima donnas, he is a team oriented star who can be a major difference maker for his club. Pro Bowl caliber receiver with all the talent to become a special playmaker. The Raiders, Bucs & Browns very interested early in the 1st round.
