Auburn’s DT Nick Fairley Joins QB Cam Newton for NFL Draft 2011 - Underclassmen Update

Auburn’s Nick Fairley Joins Cam Newton for NFL Draft 2011 - Underclassmen Update Report:

DT Nick Fairley - Auburn

Auburn's Nick Fairley has entered the NFL Draft 2011 joining teammate QB Cam Newton who announced on Thursday his intentions to turn professional. Underclassmen have until Saturday to declare for the NFL Draft 2011 with three additional days to rescind that decision and return to their college team if they have not signed with an agent.

Fairley is a massive junior defensive tackle who projects as one of the top picks in April's draft. At 6'5" and 300 lbs., Fairley has dominated SEC offensive linemen all season with 56 overall tackles, including 11.5 sacks and 24 TFLs. He was named the defensive MVP of the BCS National Championship Game that Auburn won 22-19 over Oregon. In the BCS title game, he had a sack, three TFLs and a forced fumble. During the 2010 season, he led the SEC with 24 TFL and he set a school-record with his 11.5 sacks. He played only two seasons at Auburn after transferring from junior college level.

Our January Newsletter will have a complete evaluation of all Underclassmen with a new Top 150 Prospects, Three Round Mock Draft, All-star Game analysis plus more next week.
