Cowboy’s WR Dez Bryant Wins Weekly Rookie Award

WR Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys wins this week’s Draft Insiders’ offensive rookie award after scoring 3 TDs in their disappointing Monday night 41-35 loss. Bryant is settling into the Big D offense with big play ability to strike from anywhere on the field. He will have to continue his development without starting QB Tony Romo who is out the next 6 weeks with a broken non throwing shoulder. Bryant’s outstanding performance earned him the nomination as he accounted for 171 total yards and three touchdowns, including one on a 93-yard punt return and two on 4th-quarter receptions. Despite his impressive effort, the Cowboys fell to last place at 1-5 after taking another serious ass whippin at the hands of the rival Giants.
Safety Eric Berry of the Chiefs wins this week’s Draft Insiders’ Defensive rookie award after he made a few key plays in the Chiefs victory. Eric had three tackles, one interception and forced one fumble in the Chiefs' 42-20 win over the Jaguars that has KC atop of the AFC West. Arizona’s LB Daryl Washington came in second for rookie award after posted 11 tackles which moved him up to #2 among rookie tacklers behind Cleveland safety T.J. Ward.
