Backs Peterson & Walker Declare for NFL Draft '07

Junior running backs, Oklahoma's Adrian Peterson and Notre Dame's Darius Walker are expected to announce his intention to enter the NFL Draft '07 on Thursday.
Peterson is expected to be at least a top 5 prospect after a terrific yet injury riddled career with the Sooners. Walker rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of the past couple of seasons and totaled over 3000 rushing yards during his three year Irish career. Peterson was expected to declare after impressive performances since his freshman season, though marred by continuous injuries over his career. Walker has been productive throughout his career and been a vital part of the Irish high powered offense. He gave no indication of turning pro through the '06 season. He had a huge game vs LSU in the Irish Sugar Bowl loss. He had over 100 yards in the first half vs a very physical and talented LSU defense. He projects to be drafted in the early rounds but most likely not in the first round.
These declarations came on the heels of two huge additions Wednesday when LSU junior QB Jamarcus Russell and Southern Cal wideout Dwayne Jarrett confirmed they will enter the NFL Draft '07 after strong performances in the postseason. Both are expected to be top 10 selections this spring.
